The glass has a large polished mark at the bottom and has a nice purple color. To remove the grayish tone that glass could get, manganese was often added. This helped to clean the mass and give the glass a whiter color. Sometimes the glass mass became overcolored and then took on a purple or pink hue, which is the case with this glass.
