Christian the 8th was produced at the major Danish glassworks, Holmegaard, Kastrup and Fyens Glasvrk from the mid 19th century until the 1940s, when it was discontinued. It is also produced in a smooth version, called Berlinois. This glass has also been produced at Holmegaard, Kastrup and Fyens Glasvrk. Christian d. 8 is one of the most extensive Danish glass series
